What is Mesotherapy?

Pioneered by the French physician Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952, Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe and elsewhere to treat various injuries and medical conditions. This medical specialty targets problem areas with microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. A series of micro-injections with a unique formulation of vitamins are pumped into the mesoderm of the skin with a special device. Mesotherapy for facial rejuvenation allows the true restructuring of the skin tissue since the formulation has been fully designed to favour the different biological reactions of the architecture of the skin.

In our clinic we use the range of REVITACARE products which contain both Hyaluronic acid and a rejuvenating Vitamin complex. This complex has both IN-DEPTH and ON-SURFACE action to not only reduce and correct the signs of skin aging but also help prevent the skin from further de-hydration and sagginess. Hyaluronic acid plays an important part in maintaining the volume and moisture content of the skin and contributes to its firmness by its lubricating effect on the elastic fibres.

Facial mesotherapy is a safe, natural alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures in which complexion-brightening vitamins are shot four to six millimeters below the epidermis to improve skin's texture and tone. The process delivers vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the skin to nourish and rejuvenate, promote production of collagen and elastin, and stimulate your metabolism. As your skin ages, circulation decreases, and the resulting reduction of oxygen and nutrients hinders your body's ability to flush out toxins. This is what drives premature aging and causes the skin to develop an ashen appearance.

After treatment, patients commonly describe their skin as looking rested, radiant, glowing and firmer. Mesotherapy can be used as a supplement, or an alternative, to many anti-aging regimes, including botox, deep laser resurfacing, peels, antioxidants and topical creams.

Why Do I need more than one treatment?
Mesotherapy for facial rejuvenation is usually performed in an initial series of 3 - 6 treatments spaced 2 – 3 weeks apart. The effects of the treatment are cumulative. Your body will slowly develop collagen and elastin over time.

What Are The Risks?
There is a very small chance of bruising which can easily be covered.

What will the treatment do for me?
The treatment is a bio revitalising procedure. By injecting hyaluronic acid and other nutrients into the dermis, you will notice a visible improvement in the tone, hydration and texture of your skin.

Is the result immediate?
No. Although, you will notice some improvement of your skin a few days after first treatment, you will have to have at least three treatments every 2 weeks to see significant difference. Although the result is long lasting maintenance treatments are nessesary once every six month.

Is the treatment painful?
There is some slight discomfort but the clinician will apply a topical aesthetic to minimize the discomfort.
